Are you thinking of building a website with Microsoft Frontpage software?

Well, our recommendation is to stay away from Frontpage. FrontPage at one point was really popular.  Not anymore, it's considered "old school" now.  Microsoft has phased out the Frontpage software program since they launched Expression Web.  Finding a web host that still supports the Frontpage extensions can be tough.

Last we looked, InMotion still supported Frontpage and is the way to go if you're looking for web hosting for Frontpage.

If you're starting your website from scratch, why not use Wordpress instead?

But, if you inherited an old site, or were given a free copy of the old Frontpage software and have already built a site, here's our thoughts:

You need to make sure that you have dedicated website hosting with frontpage extensions enabled. Microsoft Frontpage webservers need  specialized extensions to run its applications. If you choose to ignore this, some parts of your website will not function properly. These peculiarities do not end even if you do manage to source frontpage website hosting. You could opt to not use these extensions altogether. These extensions are generally used for handling calendars, photo galleries, flashing graphics and other similar features. If you do not require these functionalities, stay away from the extensions.

Inmotion Hosting should do the trick for hosting your Frontpage website. Give 'em a try today.

Again, Front Page is thought of as obsolete in the IT world, and more advanced software and hosting options are available.  Microsoft has since released Expression Web software to help in building websites.   Microsoft no longer distributes FrontPage in its software bundles.
