How To Access Blocked Sites At Work

How to Access Blocked Sites At Work

Sometimes you just need your Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or Gmail fix at work.  But either your company blocks those sites or you don't want your employer to know you're surfing the web for personal reasons.

Either way, you could try bypassing the work internet blocks with a public proxy.  I know, most likely the public proxy's are blocked too.  Or, the public proxy's aren't reliable and go down in the middle of composing your personal email on Gmail.

Make Your Own Blocked Site Detour.  It's easy.

1 - Buy cheap web hosting from HostMonster, which is a web host that can run PHP scripts.

2 - Choose a domain name that will become your personal proxy.  The domain is free as part of your HostMonster sign-up.

2 - Download the PHProxy program here.

3 - Open your HostMonster cpanel access, go to file manager, and upload the PHProxy file.

4 - Hit the unzip button in file manager to unzip the .exe PHProxy file.

5 - Type in the personal proxy domain name on your work browser.  When the proxy page pops up, type your actual destination (gmail.com, facebook.com, etc.) into the blank address bar.

Bingo.  You can now access blocked sites at work!
