Follow these instructions to transfer your Wordpress website Using phpMyAdmin:
- Choose a new web host - Hostpapa, Hostgator, and Bluehost all are affordable and reliable shared WP hosts.
- Login to your Cpanel at your host.
- Look for Manage Databases
- Select the database you want to export.
- Export your entire database as a SQL file to your desktop. Please check the WordPress codex for export instructions, as you want to tick the "Add Drop Table" box before performing the export.
- Create a new database at the new host. Access the DB using phpMyAdmin.
- Select the database, which should be empty of any WP tables.
- Select "Import", browse your desktop for the SQL file, and simply upload it. All your tables from the old DB will now be in the new DB.
- Using FTP, you can ownload your entire directory from the old server, including your .htaccess file, which contains rewrite rules for your WP network. Make sure you can see "." hidden files on your desktop (on a PC, it's a setting, on a Mac, you have to turn on hidden files on the command line using Terminal. Or, you could simply change the name of from ".htaccess" to "htacceess" before downloading the file, so it's not hidden on your desktop.
- Upload everything to the new server. You should be able to test on the new server's temporary domain, but you won't see all pages until you change the DNS entries to the new server.
*Note - If you are simply changing the domain, then you shouldn't have to update your database with a new path or URL. If you are changing the domain, then you will have to do a "Search and Replace" on your database tables to fix all URL's in the db so that they are consistent with your domain.

You would use the SQL tab and write the statements. You have to make sure these are absolutely correct, or you'll have to start over by dumping your db from your new location, uploading the old copy, and redoing it. How to Transfer Wordpress Website to Another Domain or Web Host Using phpMyAdmin

As readers of this blog know, we love the cPanel web hosting control panel. It's so easy to use, and makes managing your web hosting account a snap. What is cPanel and why would Lunarpages move away from using it? cPanel is a third party licensed software developed by cPanel, Inc. Web hosts pay cPanel a license fee to use it. Lunarpages most likely stopped using cPanel to save money. Ironically, they probably also wanted to give themselves more control over their control panel. Honestly I'm not sure if that was a good business decision by the Lunarpages management team. The LPCP - Lunar Pages control panel is "light weight" and isn't as powerful compared to cPanel. Web hosting users, including designers and developers may now avoid Lunarpages as they know how to and want to use cPanel.
